Nashville Birth Photography | Caroline's Birth Story

I adored meeting and getting to know Courtney and Chae during our first consultation. I felt thankful for the amount of value the couple placed on documenting the birth of their first child and the trust they had in me to be a part of such an important day.

Courtney called me around 3am to let me know her water had broken. Because this was Courtney's first baby, I expected to meet them at the hospital many hours later. After text updates through the early hours of the morning, it was exciting to hear that labor was in full swing and I met them at St. Thomas hospital around 10:00am. Courtney and Chae decided to be surprised and wait to find out the sex of their baby. There were two tiny onesies packed in their hospital bag. They planned to use the onesie to announce the baby's arrival to their families.

Courtney spent much of the morning in high spirits with help from her amazing nurse Tonya and the talented Dr. Reynolds. I can't say enough how perfectly this birth progressed. After only a few pushes, Caroline Elise was born at 1:12pm.

The families were waiting anxiously in the waiting room. When it was time to introduce them to their granddaughter, my heart felt so full because the love that filled that hospital room was indescribable. I'm so happy I was able to photograph Caroline's birth so that it can be remembered forever. Enjoy this birth story and look for photos from Caroline's newborn session soon.
