How to get the Best Photos of Siblings with their New Baby

Curious what my number one tip is for getting older siblings (toddlers specifically) to cooperate for photo day?

Don’t tell them you’re taking photos!

Literally make this day out to be like any other day. You can tell them a friend is coming over, but don’t make a huge deal that it’s picture day.

Have you ever asked your toddler to smile for a photo? Unless they are a perfect angel robot baby, they probably either pout and run away or make the most forced toothy ‘cheese’ you’ve ever seen. I want to get on kids levels and make them comfortable. My job is to capture real smiles and sweet moments. Offering bribes and prepping your older child too much, or begging they come interact with the new baby actually makes the session harder. I promise it always runs smoother when we take the pressure off of the photos.
